We met new friends Karen and Don who have a beautiful Stamas boat. They invited us out for fishing and sunning in Jost Van Dyke. The fishing was so bad the frigate birds that fly over when they see fish were actually coming after our trolling lures. One picked it up but quickly let it go, thank goodness. Once again it was a beautiful day in the islands.

Hermit Crabs Don’t have a Chance with Jager
Our Weimaraner Jager is not a trained hunting dog but he is always looking for something in the woods. Ever since we forged a path to the beach his hunt has been for hermit crabs. He picks them up and carries them around and chews on their shell a little bit then lets them go. Sometimes we look for him for a really long time until we find him standing over the hermit crab just daring it to do something

Not really a hopping lunch spot
But as we make our way around the island we do not find many good deals for eating out. But today my friend Rhonda and I ended up eating at the hospital. She had some business to do there so I said sure why not. They had 3 or 4 specials one of which is always vegetarian for under $4.00. They included a side too and if you wanted another side it was $.79. Desert was $1.29 for a piece of cake and a cappuccino was $.79 . And it was all very tasty.

Beach here we come
Gunnar has been working at cutting a path down to the beach from the house and finally succeeded yesterday. We have a path that cuts all the way to the beach. It is still a bit of a walk so you need to have your walking shoes but it is worth the walk. You will get some exercise and the end result is a private beach to unwind and swim at.
