Dog collar buying/Mexican Night

Filed under: Uncategorized — Leah @ 11:18 am

Yesterday we finally had to go get collars for Spike and Jager.  Their leather collars turned their fur different colors.  Of course now they are pirates!  We had some guests leave yesterday and we were sad to see them g we had such a great time with then and living vicariously through them.  They explored and went everywhere.

We also had margarita night last night thanks to our most recent guests and it turned into a Mexican food night also.  A good time was had by all.

Monday Morning walk and after weekend report

Filed under: Uncategorized — Leah @ 10:18 am

Well the weekend didn’t turn out exactly as planned, but we still had a great time.  Saturday night turned into a Gator Game night and no jazz.  Go Gators!!! Sunday we had the airport day.  We had our first pick up at 11:45 and we went to wicked to eat brunch.  Usually the service is great but I believe we waited an hour plus to get our brunch and it wasn’t very good which was surprising.  We then went back for the afternoon pickup.  We had a person come in at 3:00 and another at 4:00.  Then delivered one person to Latitude 18 had a drink there and then proceeded home for a great dinner and conversation with all of our guests.  We have a full house and everyone seemed to have a wonderful time.

We went down to the beach this morning and had a great walk and did some rock climbing.  Always a fun way to start the day.  Hopefully we will get some fishing and diving in this week.  Apparently a lot of folks that we know decided to take vacation this week and are in St. Thomas.  Nice to see so many familiar  faces.  I will keep you updated and we would love to share our world down here with you.

Saturday Jazz Party at Yacht Haven

Filed under: Uncategorized — Leah @ 8:26 am

Well we are gearing up for another fun filled day and night here in sunny St. Thomas.  We had guests arrive Thursday and we have been having a great time going downtown shopping and eating local food at Gladys Cafe in down town Charlotte Amalie.  Watching the ships come in and out.  This was yesterdays ship look how it dwarfs the Marriott.

Today our guests are off to St. John via the car ferry.  We also have more guests arriving today for the Yacht show that will be held at Yacht Haven next week.  They are also LSU fans so we don’t know how the Gator/LSU thing is going to work out :)

But tonight we have Full Moon Jazz at Yacht Haven.  You take your lawn chairs down to Yacht Haven set up under the stars and the moon and listen to relaxing local Jazz.  Should prove to be another great day in the islands.

Great time in St. Croix

Filed under: Uncategorized — Leah @ 12:33 pm

St. Croix proved to be a really great trip.  First off we had a fairly smooth crossing made it to the downtown dock without a hitch.  Then we waited for our rental car to be delivered and off we went for the great exploration day.  First off the plumbing store what else could ask for :)   No then really the day began.  We went to Sanchez’s house to get ballyhoo for the next day of fishing.  He apparently is the go to man for everything from the sea.  He also has a really cool fence with Christmas light too boot.  (I always wondered what to do with left over jet skis and surf boards).

Then we were off to the Cruzan Rum tour.   We discovered a drink there that i believe they mix all of the flavored rums together and then mix all of the fruit drink mixers and call it cruzan confusion.  After a couple of them you certainly would be.  Then off to a beautiful country drive that ended us up at the Domino club where there are beer drinking pigs (don’t worry no more real beer only O’Douls and a speciality drink called Mommawanna.  Apparently after this drink Momma wanna :)

Then we spent the night at Buck Island which is part of the National park system down here it is right off the coast of St. Croix.

Next day the guys went fishing and had a great time. As evidenced by the picture below.

The girls had another nice day of shopping, going to the farmers market and hanging out.  We had a wonderful crossing back home to St. Thomas and say a beautiful sunset.  So if you ever get the opportunity to go to St. Croix take it.  It was a really great time!!!
